Mechanical Production and Maintenance Engineering Study Program was established on April 29, 2014 based on the Director General of Higher Education permit number: 34 / E / O / 2014 signed by the Director General of Higher Education (Djoko Santoso). Mechanical Production and Maintenance Engineering is a vocational education program developed for Diploma IV (D-IV) levels.

Production engineering or manufacturing engineering studies all matters related to the production process which includes product design (product design), production processes, and management of manufacturing systems (Production Management). Maintenance techniques study science related to the maintenance and repair of machine tools and industrial machinery as well as managing the maintenance system (engine maintenance management). This study program integrates two competencies, namely Production Engineering and Maintenance Engineering. With the hope of becoming a new competent superior and able to solve the problems faced in the world of work, especially in the field of manufacturing and machine maintenance.

The process of formulating the Vision refers to the National Education Vision of the Republic of Indonesia as a whole and is guided by the Polynema Vision. Based on the two vision references, the D-IV Study Program in Engineering and Production Engineering formed a small team tasked with gathering information in the form of inputs, suggestions and contributions of ideas from both internal and external parties including various stakeholders to formulate prospects and future projections. future and expectations desired by the Study Program. The involvement of stakeholders, both internal and external is considered very important as an effort to develop themselves in harmony with the dynamics of rapid and always changing community demands to provide services according to their needs.

From the internal form of input relating to the current conditions in the study program, and how the strengths and weaknesses that are owned, while from the external form of opportunities that can be utilized by the study program, and various information that is challenging for the study program.

External parties in the form of actors in industry, alumni from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, various professional associations and others. Both input from internal and external were then discussed by the small team and several times involved all lecturers in the D-IV Study Program in Mechanical Engineering Production and Maintenance. Polinema’s vision contained in the statute and Polinema’s strategic plan is to Become a Vocational Higher Education Institution Excellence in Global Competition, which is then used as a guideline by the D-IV Study Program in Mechanical Engineering Production and Maintenance in its vision, namely:
